LBExam

Terms

Terms of use

Using this site means these apply. Each clause describes something the site actually does.

What this is

LBExam is study material for the California Contractor Law and Business Exam: practice questions, mock exams, and the public sources they are drawn from. It is a study aid, nothing more. It licenses nobody, it is not legal advice, and it cannot promise a pass.

Contractors State License Board sets and marks the examination and has no part in this site. LBExam is independent and not affiliated with the Contractors State License Board.

What you get for the money

One payment of 149 USD plus tax opens the full question bank and mock exams with no limit on how many you sit. There is no subscription, nothing renews, and there is nothing to cancel. Questions written after you buy are included.

"Lifetime" means as long as the site is around. One payment opens one account, for one person. The free half stays free whether or not you ever pay, and nothing that is free today is taken behind the price later.

You can ask for the money back within 7 days. How, and what happens to the account afterwards, is on the refund page.

The pass guarantee is a term of the sale and not a slogan. Complete three full timed mocks here, sit the real exam within 90 days of buying, and if you fail it, send the score report within 30 days of the exam date for a full refund. It is one claim per purchase, the mocks are read off your own account, and the whole of it is written out under the refund page. Nothing here promises you will pass; this promises what happens if you do not.

What you may do with it

What you may not

Ownership

The questions and the explanations belong to LBExam. Use them to study. Do not scrape, copy or share them.

The law they rest on is nobody's to own. The Business and Professions Code, the Civil Code, the Labor Code, the California Code of Regulations and the federal guides are public documents, reproduced here as they were published and linked to their official copies. Nothing on this site claims a right over any of them, and reading them here or anywhere else is free.

Your account

Keep your sign-in to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with an account signed in as you, and you can close your own account from the profile page at any time without asking anybody. Write to [email protected] if you think somebody else has your sign-in. What happens to your data when you close an account is on the privacy page.

What is not promised

No pass. Nobody selling study material can promise one, and a site that did would be telling you something it has no way of knowing. What is offered is practice against the published sources, scored honestly.

No professional or legal advice. A question about a contract, a lien or a license is answered here as an exam question, not as advice about a real job.

No promise that the site is up every minute of every day. It runs on ordinary hosting and it will be down sometimes. Nothing is charged for the time it is down, because nothing here is charged for twice.

Accuracy

This site is kept accurate and current as carefully as one small team can, and it is a study site rather than a law firm. Where the law and this site disagree, the law wins. If something looks wrong, tell us at [email protected].

Payment

Payments are taken by Paddle, which is the merchant of record: it sells you the product, handles the tax, and issues the receipt. LBExam never sees or stores a card number. Refunds are on the refund page.

Changes, and the law that applies

These terms can change. A change that takes something away from a buyer is announced on the site before it applies, and a change that only adds is not. The date at the foot of this page is when it was last checked, and it moves when the wording does.

Ontario law applies, and the courts of Ontario are where a dispute would be heard.

Anything unclear here is worth asking about: [email protected].
